Terms of Service

Last updated October 2, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and BlurMap ("BlurMap", "we", "us"). By creating an account, buying a plan, installing BlurMap or using it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use BlurMap.

Please read the sections on automatic renewal, the risks of using BlurMap, the limits on our liability, and arbitration. They affect your legal rights.

What BlurMap is

BlurMap is an app that changes the location your own iPhone reports, for your own lawful use. We do not promise that any app or service will accept, ignore or fail to notice a changed location.

You can also control BlurMap from blurmap.com/app. Commands to your iPhone travel over an encrypted connection (TLS) through our hosting provider, Supabase, and are not stored. Only your own signed-in BlurMap account can reach your iPhone, so keep your login private and turn off Use on the web in the app when you do not want it. This feature may be delayed or stop working if your internet, VPN, app signing or iPhone settings change, and we do not promise it will always work.

Who can use it

Your license

While your plan is active, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use BlurMap on one iPhone at a time, for your own non-commercial use. BlurMap is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not given here. You may not copy, resell, rent, share, reverse engineer, decompile or modify BlurMap, remove its notices, or build a competing service from it, except where the law does not allow us to forbid that. Open source components inside BlurMap stay under their own licenses.

Acceptable use

Do not use BlurMap to:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, with or without notice, and report unlawful use to the authorities.

Risks you accept

Other services can react. Other apps and services may detect a changed location and limit or ban your account with them. That is your risk, and we are not responsible for what they do.

Your phone and Apple account. Setting up BlurMap uses your own Apple ID and requires changing settings on your iPhone. Apple can change or block this at any time, and iOS updates can break BlurMap. You set up and use BlurMap at your own risk.

Do not rely on BlurMap for safety. Do not use it where a wrong location could put anyone at risk.

No affiliation, and trademarks

BlurMap is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Apple, Google or any other company whose apps we mention. Their names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe what BlurMap works with.

Plans, free trial and automatic renewal

Summary of the offer. Your plan starts with a free trial of 2 days (48 hours). A credit or debit card is required to start it. When the trial ends, your plan begins and we charge your card automatically, then again every period until you cancel.

Prices are in US dollars and may be shown before tax. Taxes are added where they apply. To avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends. To cancel, log in on this site, open Account and click Manage billing, then cancel your plan. You do not need to call or email us.

Your consent. When you choose a plan and enter your card at checkout, you agree that BlurMap, through our payment processor, may charge that card the amount shown for the first paid period when your trial ends, and the same amount for each renewal, until you cancel. You can withdraw that consent at any time by cancelling.

Trial rules. Each account gets one free trial, and each iPhone gets one free trial. If you have had a plan before, there are no free days: your plan starts and is charged right away. If your iPhone already used a free trial on another account (even one that was deleted), the new trial ends right away with no charge, and you can choose a plan at full price. We tell you at checkout whether your plan includes the trial.

Renewal and price changes. Plans renew for the same period at the price you agreed to, until you cancel. If we change the price, we will email you and tell you before the change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.

Cancelling. You can cancel online at any time, in the same way you signed up, through Account and Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged and access ends when the trial ends. You may also cancel by emailing blurmapllc@gmail.com from your account address.

Reminders. Checkout shows these terms, including the price and how to cancel, and you must agree to them before you pay. You get an emailed receipt for each charge. We email you before your free trial ends and before a plan renews. These emails do not change your right to cancel yourself at any time.

Refunds. We do not give refunds or credits for partial periods, including when you cancel, delete your account, or we end your account. Charges are not refundable except where the law requires it or we choose to. If you were charged and did not mean to be, or you think you were charged after cancelling, email us within 30 days and we will look at it. Under California law you may be entitled to a refund in some cases. If a payment is disputed with your bank, your plan ends right away.

Failed payments. If a charge fails, we may retry it, and your access ends when the period you paid for ends.

Payments. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

One iPhone per account

Each account works on one iPhone at a time. You can change which iPhone from Account on this site. Sharing an account, or changing BlurMap to get around this limit, may get the account closed.

Your account and ending it

You can stop using BlurMap at any time. To delete your account, log in, open Account and click Delete account, or email us from your account address. Deleting your account cancels your plan right away, with no refund for the rest of the period, as described on our privacy page. We may suspend or end your account or access if you break these terms, if a payment is reversed or disputed, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering BlurMap. Sections that by their nature should survive (including payment owed, risks, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, arbitration and governing law) survive ending.

Availability and changes to the service

We may change, pause or end any part of BlurMap. If we end the service for everyone, we will give reasonable notice and refund the unused part of your current paid period.

Disclaimer of warranties

BLURMAP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE GIVE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT BLURMAP WILL WORK ON YOUR PHONE, BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE, OR BE ACCEPTED BY, OR GO UNNOTICED BY, ANY APP OR SERVICE. Some places do not allow some of these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

Limit of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, BLURMAP AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, ACCOUNTS OR GOODWILL, INCLUDING ANY LOSS FROM A THIRD PARTY SERVICE SUSPENDING OR BANNING YOU OR ACTING ON A CHANGED LOCATION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO BLURMAP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US $50.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for willful injury to a person or property, or for violating the law. California Civil Code section 1668 applies. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542 only to the extent the law allows, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you will defend and cover us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) from third parties that come from your use of BlurMap in breach of these terms, your breach of the law, or your dispute with another person or service. We will tell you about the claim, and you may not settle it in a way that admits fault for us without our consent.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Where the arbitration section below does not apply, the state and federal courts in California have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we consent to them. This does not take away consumer protections that the law of the place you live gives you and that cannot be waived.

Resolving disputes: arbitration and class action waiver

Talk to us first. Email blurmapllc@gmail.com with a short description of the problem and what you want. If we cannot settle it within 30 days, either of us may start arbitration or, for a small claim, go to small claims court.

Arbitration. Except as stated below, you and BlurMap agree that any dispute, claim or controversy between us about BlurMap or these terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration, not in court, and not by a jury. The Federal Arbitration Act applies. The arbitration will be run by JAMS under its rules for consumer disputes that are in effect when it starts, or by another provider we both agree to. You can see the rules at jamsadr.com. The arbitrator decides every question, including whether this clause applies, and must follow these terms and the law. For a claim under US $10,000, the arbitration may be done on documents or by phone or video, unless you ask for a hearing. We will pay the arbitration filing, administrative and arbitrator fees beyond what you would pay to file a case in court, unless the arbitrator finds your claim was brought in bad faith. Each side pays its own lawyers unless the law gives a right to fees. Judgment on the award can be entered in any court that has jurisdiction.

What is not covered. Either of us may (1) bring an individual case in small claims court if it qualifies, (2) ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property, and (3) report a concern to a government agency.

Class action waiver. To the extent the law allows, you and BlurMap each give up the right to bring or take part in a class, collective, consolidated or representative action. Claims may be brought only for yourself, not for anyone else. An arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. If this waiver is found to be unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to court and not to arbitration.

Public injunctive relief. Nothing in this section stops you from asking a court for public injunctive relief, which is relief that mainly protects the general public and not only you, as California law allows (see McGill v. Citibank). If a court decides that such a claim cannot be waived in arbitration, that claim will be heard in court, and any arbitration of the rest of your claims will be put on hold until the court case ends.

30 day opt out. You may opt out of arbitration and the class action waiver within 30 days after you first accept these terms. To opt out, email blurmapllc@gmail.com from your account address with the subject "Arbitration opt out" and say that you opt out. If you opt out, disputes go to the courts described in the governing law section. Opting out does not change anything else in these terms.

Time limit. To the extent the law allows, a claim must be started within one year after it arose, or it is barred forever.

If this section ends. If we end arbitration for everyone, or a court finds this section unenforceable as a whole, disputes go to the courts described above.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect where we can, and for paying customers the change will not apply to a plan period you already paid for. If you do not agree, you can cancel your plan before the change takes effect. Using BlurMap after that means you accept the change. A change to the arbitration section does not apply to a dispute that already started.

Copyright and takedown notices

If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, email blurmapllc@gmail.com with "Copyright notice" in the subject. Include what work you say is infringed, where on our site it is, your name and contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not allowed, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or may act for the owner, and your signature. We may remove material and end accounts of repeat infringers.

Electronic communications

You agree that we may give you notices, receipts, renewal and trial reminders and other information by email to your account address, or by posting on this site, and that these count as written notices. Keep your email address up to date. You can ask us to stop non-essential emails, but we will still send you notices about your account, billing and these terms.
