Privacy Policy
This policy explains what BlurMap ("we", "us") collects when you use blurmap.com, the BlurMap app and BlurMap Setup, how we use it, and your choices. We are based in California.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We use no ad trackers.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
- Billing information: your plan and payment status. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Device information: your iPhone's name and an identifier for it, used to keep one iPhone per account and one free trial per iPhone.
- Usage and security information: IP addresses and a log of sign-ins and app check-ins, used to keep accounts secure and stop abuse.
- Page views: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits to our pages. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not collect personal information.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact support.
Your location
The places you pick, search and save in the iPhone app stay on your iPhone. We never receive your real location from the app, except as described below when you control it from a browser.
If you use the Web App at blurmap.com/app, the place you search for and the points of a route are sent to our server and our mapping provider to get you results. This can be precise location information. We use it only to answer that request and do not store it.
Controlling BlurMap from a browser. This is optional and off until you turn it on in the iPhone app (the computer button, Use on the web). blurmap.com then sends commands (a place, a route, reset) to your iPhone over an encrypted connection (TLS) through our hosting provider, Supabase. Only your own signed-in account can reach your iPhone. While that page is open and connected, your iPhone also sends its current location to it so you can see it on the map; this travels the same way and is not stored. Our server and Supabase can see your account and when commands are sent, and the commands pass through them, so the place you send your iPhone to is not hidden from them in transit. Messages are relayed, not stored.
BlurMap Setup uses your Apple ID to install the app. Your Apple ID password goes only to Apple and is never sent to us.
How we use it
To run your account and the service, bill you, send account and billing emails, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the service secure, and meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run BlurMap, such as hosting, database, payment, email, bot protection and mapping providers. They may use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, to protect people or our service, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
How long we keep it
We keep account, billing and device information until you delete your account. Security logs are kept for up to 90 days. After you delete your account, we keep a record that cannot identify you, only so the same iPhone cannot get a second free trial. Our payment processor keeps payment records as the law requires.
Cookies and tracking
We keep you signed in using your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies; our page-view counts (Vercel Web Analytics) work without cookies. We do not track you across other websites, so we respond the same way to Do Not Track signals. We honor Global Privacy Control signals, though since we do not sell or share your information, they change nothing.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. We will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information, and we use sensitive information only to provide the service, so there is nothing to opt out of or limit.
To make a request, email blurmapllc@gmail.com from your account email. To delete your account, you can also use Delete account on the Account page. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent with your written permission.
Children
BlurMap is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will also email you.
